Ingredients

Scale

For the Bread:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Optional Topping:

  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven & Prepare Pan
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream Butter & Sweeteners
In a large bowl, beat softened butter, honey, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add Eggs
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Combine Wet Ingredients
Stir in buttermilk and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • Incorporate Dry Ingredients
Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
  • Add Pecans
Gently fold in chopped pecans, reserving a few to sprinkle on top if desired.
  • Bake
Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Optional Glaze
While still warm, brush the top with melted butter and honey for a glossy, sweet finish.
  • Cool & Serve
Allow bread to cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature with extra honey butter if desired.
