A Taste of Comfort, A Story in Every Dish

Hi, I’m Susan J. Martin—founder, home cook, and the heart behind SoupSip.com.

It all started on a quiet afternoon.
Rain tapping on the windows, something warm on the stove, and a feeling I hadn’t felt in a long time—peace. I wasn’t cooking for an audience. I was cooking for comfort, for memory, for joy. And in that stillness, I realized something simple but powerful:

Recipes are more than food.
They’re stories. They’re moments. They’re how we connect when words fall short.

SoupSip.com was born from that feeling.

What started as a personal notebook of cherished recipes slowly turned into something bigger—a space to share the dishes that mean something. The kind of food that fills more than just your plate. Meals that feel like home, no matter where you are or who you’re with.

More Than a Meal

I didn’t train in a professional kitchen. I learned through family traditions, late-night experiments, and handwritten notes in the margins of old cookbooks. Over time, I started saving more than just measurements—I started saving memories.

Now, I share them with you.

My goal isn’t perfection. It’s connection. I want to help others rediscover the joy in cooking—the way it centers us, grounds us, and brings people to the table, even on the busiest days.

What I Believe In

  • Honest Ingredients: Fresh, real, and approachable—food that feels good and tastes better.
  • Everyday Joy: You don’t need complicated techniques to make something meaningful.
  • Human Connection: Recipes are bridges—between cultures, generations, and hearts.

Why I Created SoupSip

Because I know what it feels like to need comfort and find it in a familiar dish.
Because I’ve seen how a simple meal can light up a room.
And because I believe food is one of the most beautiful ways to care—for yourself, and for others.

So whether you’re here for inspiration, to try something new, or just to feel a little more at home in your kitchen—welcome.

SoupSip.com is my way of sharing what matters most.
And I’m so glad you’re here.
